Warning Message: Probable reduction of the model is more than …% of the starting model.

This warning shows, that the chosen settings result in a high material reduction. This might not be what the user anticipates. The %-value is an estimation of the volume reduction at the end of the optimisation process considering the chosen optimisation setup.

• If the Design Space is chosen very large in comparison to the boundary application points the user will expect such a behaviour and the optimisation is exactly doing what it’s supposed to be.

• If the Design Space is not that large, the model setup is probably not chosen very well. There might be huge differences between the amount of forces and the defined stress goal. Have a look at the stresses and adjust your optimisation setup because the optimisation will most likely not result in the expected geometry.

• Additionally, the model setup can result in a lost connection to the Non-Design Spaces and therefore boundary conditions. In this case the optimisation will produce an error and terminate the run. Please see the error messages Ec3b1ac29, E8bb13ecb & E8b7af774.

The warning was implemented to help the user at an early stage in the optimisation to evaluate the optimisation and choose better settings.
