The image shows the overall workflow of Generative Design including the steps to verify a result..

A Design always starts with the preparation of the geometry. This step can be donen in a CAD program or directly in MSC Apex Generative Design. In a next step the prepared geometry will be modified to become part of the optimization model. This happens in the “Model Tab” of MSC Apex Generative Design. The Nondesign spaces are created and defined in this step as well as all the static boundary conditions.

Afterwards the lat step of the model preparation can take place. The boundary conditions are assigned to events and the optimization parameters are defined. After teh set-up is complete, the optimization can be carried out.

Once an optimization is started you are directly transferred to the Post Processing and can track the progress of your optimization in a live view. The post processing gives information about the stresses, displacements and mass of each iteration.

After the optimization is done and the result satisfies all the predefined goals an intersection needs to be done in order for the part to be firstly ready for manufacturing and secondly used in a reanalysis.
