Generative Design Workflow

The workflow of generative design can be divided into 6 steps:

A Design always starts with the Geometry Preparation. This step can be done either in a CAD program or directly in this software.

In the next step Geometry & Boundary Conditions the prepared geometry is modified to contain the defined spaces of an optimisation model. Furthermore, the loads and fixations are applied to the model.

Then the last step of the model preparation can take place. The boundary conditions are assigned to load steps and the optimisation parameters are defined. After the set-up is complete, the Optimisation can be carried out.

Once an optimisation is started the results of every iteration and the progress of the optimisation can be tracked in a live view. The Model View gives information about the stresses, displacements and mass of each iteration. The intersection has been integrated in the optimisation process and doesn’t need to be carried out manually. Every iteration is now available as an intersected file. For more information regarding the intersection have a look here.

The intersected model can be used in the Reanalysis to verify the structure for the specified usage or for other remaining workflow steps.
