MSC Apex Generative Design checks for every optimisation start if the chosen complexity is calculable on your machine. Sometimes, this can prevent you from starting an optimisation, e.g. when your memory is used by another software.
If you still want to start the optimisation with a higher value, you can add the following comand to the Advanced User Settings:
