Part Consolidation is a very big area that has come into focus since Additive Manufacturing has become an every growing industry with a lot of applications.
Through additive manufacturing the function integration and therfrore consolidation of parts can be easily realized in the manufacturing process. Therefore we also need software tools to help consolidate the parts easily and generate one optimal design.
In a first step it the different steps it is important to identify the steps in the model preparation of a part consolidation project and decide which helpful tools are needed.
The workflow of a part consolidation looks like this:

Some of the steps have to be repeated in order to generate the Design Space that goes into the optimisation.
From this workflow 2 tools were identified which shorten the preparation time and help create a Design Space fast and with all necessary geometries.
