  • The software is available for Windows as well as for Linux. For a list of the supported Linux Distributions have a look here. In both systems the optimization can either be performed only on CPU or on CPU as well as GPU.

  • The following comparison shows the difference between the various systems and combinations of CPU and GPU calculations.

  • Supported GPUs: Nvidia Quadro

  • For this comparison the Jet Engine Bracket was used for all optimizations with the same boundary conditions as can be seen in the tutorial. → ? nachschauen

  • Wie darf das GE Bracket veröffentlicht werden (GE nicht nennen und alles andere ist ok?)

  • The best performance is achieved with a server with 2 GPU P5000 Cards. The lesser the power of the graphics card(s), the longer the optimization takes.

  • The difference between an optimization with a GPU or just a CPU can be seen quite clearly. Even the slowest GPU is still faster than the best CPU in this test. Furthermore it can be seen that the calculation is set up to use a GPU to get the best possible performance values.

  • The worst performance value was calculated with a quite simple notebook with a very low CPU performance and no GPU but even in this case the calculation ran through in a day.
