  • Description of the Tool

  • The Access Region Tool was developed to support the user in creating a Design Space dependant on an assembly and to achieve a Part Consolidation. In an assembly individual pats are selected to be consolidated. A Design Space containing all these parts can be easily created with the Design Space Tool. This Design Space often includes areas of the Assembly that are occupied by part which won’t be consolidated and need to stay in the assembly. These parts are used to create void spaces in the Design Space. But just the removal of these parts is not enough because they have to be installed in the assembly or maintenance work must be enabled. So an Access Region is necessary.

  • The Access Region Tool enables exactly this freedom with its two methods.

  • The first method is the extrusion of a face along its normal. This Region can also be scaled…

  • The second method is the extrusio of the cross section of a solid. Especially more complicated geometries can be easily made accessible this way. Again the a scaling factor can be entered to allow for more space and freedom for later installation or maintenance work.
