Why do the stresses inside the post processing look distorted?

The visualized results inside the Post Processing are the automatic Boolean intersections between the optimisation results and the initial Design Space. This ensures that all functional sharp edges are available and the generative designed part is inside the boundary limits. However, the automatic intersection leads to a lower number of surface elements in these areas that look distorted. The stresses in the colour plot and visualization area are smoothed values of the element representation and therefore estimated values. Especially the intersected areas can vary greatly from the element representation due to these irregular elements. It is only a visual issue inside the post processing since the stresses for the intersected areas are rough estimations.

With the Advanced User Settings the automatic intersection can be deactivated and the smoothed geometry result of the optimisation can be visualized.
