When the GPU solving is activated in the Application Settings - Generative Design Solver and beforehand installed the CUDA solver will automatically start in the background. Requirement for this is the installation of the CUDA driver and the corresponding GPU license. More information here.

The performance of the GPU can be checked with the Windows Task-Manager. Therefore, the Cuda window has to be selected:

If the GPU solving (MSC Apex GD Solver Engine 2022.3) is installed can be checked under services with the Windows Task-Manager.

For Linux the Nvidia command “nvidia-smi -l” can be used to see the utilization of the GPU.
