Features & Functionalities:
Mesh-to-CAD workflow connection
The Facet-to-Nurbs button is now available in the post processing. By using the button the displayed design candidate is exported from the post processing and reimported into the pre processing so that the faceted solid can be retransitioned back into a NURBS geometry.
Interface Tool Extension
The second phase of the Interface Tool development is completed. With this extension Interfaces can be easily assigned to faces where loads and boundary conditions are applied to. Multiple boundary conditions can be selected simultaneously and Interfaces with the same specifications can be created with one click.
Experimental Function - Support Reduction
The Support Reduction function is added as an experimental function in this release. With this function print-ready geometries with a perfect ratio between support reduction and part performance can be created. This way, the user needs to decide if the trade off between lesser support structures and heavier designs is worth the cost. We have implemented three different strategies which influence the design differently. It starts with the Passive strategy which only influences the design a little bit and moves on to the strategies Reactive and Active which can influence the design quite a bit. Have a look here for further information.
Usability Enhancements
In this release the focus was on adding more value to the UI by working on usability enhancements. The following enhancements have been completed:
Default Tessellation Tolerance set to fine
ODM Button to control the visibility of the Design Space Object
Scenario & Event renaming
LBCs in Studies Tab and Loads & Constraints are highlighted in the View Port when selected
Avoiding immediate update for single changes in LBC table
LBCs can be hidden when using the symmetry option
Design Space Tool: Keep current option to avoid unnecessary transfer of the geometry to a new solid and creation of a new study
GD Configuration Tool: “Remove Selection” was added as a context menu
•Scenarios are directly set in the analysis scene when reopening a project to provide an easy access to the simulation or the already calculated results
Custom Tools:
GD Optimisation Queue
The GD Optimisation Queue custom tool enables the user to prepare multiple scenarios and then let them run sequentially without any user interaction. The user can choose in the Simulation method if the simulation is to be run in the UI or in the command window. For the command window option, the user has the opportunity to automatically import the calculated result back into the UI to be reviewed in the post processing.
Automated Mesh to CAD
The Automated Mesh to CAD custom tool allows the user to transform a faceted solid geometry into a NURBS geometry and additionally go for the intersection between the Design Space and the design candidate afterwards. The usually two steps are combined into one step to reduce the number of steps and automate the workflow.

Backend
New surface meshing of results to reduce file size
Performance Enhancement of up to 30% for GPU calculations
Fixed Bugs:
Machining Allowances are part of the Interfaces and available in the Interfaces selection of the GD Configuration Tool.
