Find out more about our new features in our Release Webinar.

Automatic Intersection

The inclusion of an automatic intersection in the optimisation process creates a shortened overall workflow and reduces manual work. An intersection is necessary to regain sharp, clear edges and functional surfaces. The result geometry is the reference geometry for the manufactured and post processed part.

Further information regarding our shortened Workflow here and the Geometry Definitions here.

Scenario Specific Complexity Setting

Change the complexity easily between different scenarios to influence the resolution of the design and therefore the overall structure. The complexity has a very high influence on the result and plays a big role in creating generative design results.

Reduction of Fixation Points vs. Keep All Non-Design Regions

Allowing the optimisation algorithm to reduce fixation points gives the optimisation fewer constraints and therefore allows for more optimal designs and especially more lightweight designs. If all fixation points need to be included in the design it is by default activated. The algorithm always keeps the connection even if it is just a straight line to the overall structure.

Further information here.

Event Specific Stress Goal

Prioritize single or multiple load cases differently to get the best result for your use case. Include overload cases in the optimisation and achieve a result that considers all load directions.

Further information here.

Command Line Optimisation

Run an optimisation via Command Line. Especially parameter variations and therefore exploiting the full capacities of Generative Design benefit from the command line optimisation. Because the preprocessing only takes place once a lot of time can be saved and the optimisations can be run successively one by one.

NURBS Retransition - Mesh to CAD

The most important new function in the Feature Pack 1 Release is the NURBS Retransition (Mesh to CAD) functionality. It is possible to transfer the optimisation results which are in STL-format into NURBS and thus in CAD file format. This enables the user to include the design into his usual workflow and CAD/CAM coupling. All necessary information regading manufacturing and post processing can be delivered to the different machines necessary. The function is a first milestone with future enhancements to come with the following releases.
