The complexity influences the design of the result regarding the degree of detail. The picture below shows the influence the complexity value has on a design.

The higher the value the more detailed results are created. More Struts are being created but also very thin shell structures.

The compelxity is now available and adjustable in every Scenario in the Studies tab. This gives the user the chance to exploit the potential of Generative Design very rapidly.

Tip: Start with a lower value (4-14) for the first optimization to see where the design takes you. Afterwards increase the value till you get a the detailed design you want to reach.

The adjustment of the value can also be realized in the Application Settings → Generative Design Solver → Complexity.

We prefer the input of an absolute value in the right field physical Memory. A value of 14 is a good starting point but don’t hesitate to increase the value to realize a finer resolution and a more detailed optimization result.

Note: The higher the complexity the longer the calculation takes.
