Intersections between optimization results and Design spaces are needed to create the final part. This ensures all functional sharp edges and that the generative designed part is inside the boundary.
An intersection can be done with the advanced user settings or inside Apex with the Apex Modeler.
Therefore the final optimizaton result needs to be exported as an STL-file directly from the Postprocessing. We recommend binary STL-files.
The exported STL-file can be imported back into the same Apex Generative Design project. Please check your Geometry Import/Export settings. A Feature and Vertex angle of 40 degrees is a good value and should be default.
With the Geometry Edit Tools a boolean intersection with the Design space and the imported optimization result can be done.
