Strut Density: Dense, Medium & Sparse

A distinction between different Strut Densities can be made between the three settings "Dense", "Medium" and "Sparse". The settings influnce the design of the optimization result. The option “Dense” provides results in which a lot of small struts are being created or a very thin shell structure. While the option “Sparse” creates results with just a few thicker struts or also shell structures depending on the complexity set for this model. This result is often the most lighweight design of the three options. In between is the setting “Mdeium” which is a compromise between the two extrema and is always a good start option to use for a new optimisation model. An example for the different settings is shown in the pictures below.
