If a non-isotropic material is used, a material coordinate system has to be placed. This can correspond with the global coordinate system, referenced to existing geometries or rotated freely.
The x-axis of this coordinate system is always the build direction and differs from the two in-plane directions y and z. The values for the materials have to be entered accordingly.
Attention: The build direciton of the material coordinate system does not have an impact on the Design Rules (Support Reduction).

In the studies tab the build direction is automatically aligned to the material coordinate system. The x-direction is the build direction! For each scenario the build direction can be easily changed. This way multiple build directions can be checked in one project. Afterwards the optimisation results can be compared in the Post Processing and the best build orientation can be picked.
